New reading standards have produced noticeable shifts, including the call for more nonfiction reading, increased text complexity levels, the ability to cite text evidence, and capable use of technology. AR 360 addresses key shifts (more complex text, more nonfiction and the ability to cite text evidence) by providing leveled nonfiction text each with built-in instructional close reading skills practice requiring students to comprehend more complex informational text, cite text evidence, and bring text evidence into their writing.
